Casale Media Joins NAI; Company to Help Improve Consumers' Perception of Online Advertising and Privacy

TORONTO --(Business Wire)-- Aug. 4, 2005 -- Casale Media, a leading online display media company, today announced that it has become an associate member of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) to help further protect the privacy rights of web users. Casale Media fully supports the NAI's educational and legislative initiatives, as well as their work to promote the long-term growth and viability of the Internet as a beneficial marketing channel.

The NAI, a cooperative group of network advertisers, provides consumers with clear explanations of Internet advertising practices and their implications, and has worked in conjunction with the Federal Trade Commission to develop a set of privacy principals to which member companies must adhere.

"As an online media company, it is important to us that we support and work in cooperation with industry organizations like the NAI to help protect consumer privacy and build trust among the online user community," said Julia Casale-Amorim, Executive VP of Casale Media. "We have observed a significant lack of industry education surrounding, among other things, the topic of spyware and are concerned about the ill-effects it is having on the perception of online media. Casale Media has always taken a firm stance against the tracking of personally identifiable information online. We have never engaged in such tracking practices and refuse to support those companies that do."

Firmly committed to the protection of consumer privacy, Casale Media is one of the only online media networks to receive the privacy compliance seal issued by TRUSTe, a consumer privacy watchdog organization. Casale Media has also received certification from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) for offering only those ad units that are compliant with industry standards and regulations.

"Casale Media is a pioneer in the online advertising space and we are committed to protecting the integrity of the medium as a legitimate and essential tool for marketing communication. We place a very high value on web user privacy and are excited to work with the NAI to further educate the market and to support its efforts to address matters of public policy that impact online media and its affiliated technologies."

In collaboration with the NAI, Casale Media will work to prevent the abuses of online privacy and elevate the level of consumer awareness by:

-- Educating policy makers, software developers, and other interested parties about legitimate online data collection and responsible online business models;

-- Staying informed on developments at the federal, state, and international levels;

-- Advocating public policy that avoids disruption of responsible online business models;

-- Helping shape the agenda for the online advertising industry.
