Video conferencing industry veteran joins IOCOM Communications

(Cision (English) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Dan Marchetto to serve as Vice President of Business Development Chicago, IL, December 4, 2012: IOCOM, a leading provider of universal video conferencing solutions, has announced today that Dan Marchetto has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development, effectively immediately. Dan brings over 25 years of experience to IOCOM, most recently serving as President & CEO of MediaPlus Distribution.

As Vice President of Business Development based out of IOCOM’s Chicago headquarters, Dan will be responsible for growing and managing IOCOM’s rapidly emerging partner relationships.  He will be recruiting and supporting Resellers, Systems’ Integrators, A/V Dealers, and other collaboration solution providers interested in offering IOCOM’s software -based video conferencing platform, Visimeet, to their customers.

“I am ecstatic to be joining IOCOM at such a pivotal time in the industry”, commented Dan Marchetto. He adds “we are at an inflection point with the focus on software-based solutions with options for cloud access and delivery and IOCOM with Visimeet has the superior solution bar none.” "In a market that’s filled with increasing competition due to saturated incumbent channel programs, shrinking margins, and slowing hardware sales, more business partners are turning to IOCOM’s partner program for their video conferencing solutions,” said Tim Hackett, IOCOM CEO. "We’re excited to have Dan join our team to lead our efforts as his knowledge of the video conferencing industry and the leading VARs goes unmatched.” IOCOM solutions sit in the middle of the emerging trends for the industry: ubiquitous, software-based, and cloud delivered while embracing the BYOD (bring your own device) model.  Operating over any network on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems as well as iOS and Android devices, Visimeet is the platform of choice for many leading universities, research organizations, Telehealth initiatives and enterprise collaboration requirements.

Recognized as an industry veteran, Dan Marchetto has held leadership positions in a variety of organizations, including Phoenix Audio Technologies, Polycom, USRobotics, ClearOne, and Review Video.  Dan is a board member of the International Multimedia and Collaborative Communications Alliance (IMCCA).
