MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO, Feb 12, 2013 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- CML HealthCare Inc. (TSX:CLC) (the "Company" or "CML"), a leading community-based provider of laboratory and medical imaging services in Ontario and British Columbia, today announced that it has entered into an exclusive Vendor Supply and Capital Equipment Service Agreement (the "Agreement") with Sysmex Canada, Inc. ("Sysmex"), the Canadian subsidiary of Sysmex Corporation, a global leader in clinical laboratory systemization and solutions. Under the Agreement, CML will purchase three Sysmex HST-N(TM) Total Hematology Automation System lines which will be fully implemented and operational by the second quarter of 2013. The Sysmex automated hematology lines will provide CML with the benefits of enhanced clinical opportunities, increased capacity, and improved operational efficiencies.

"Our decision to acquire Sysmex's automated hematology system is consistent with our stated strategy of focusing on core competencies in laboratory services. Sysmex will allow us to increase our capacity and improve efficiency while reducing our annual operating costs," said Thomas Wellner, President and CEO of CML. "In addition to its world-class technology, Sysmex is an ideal partner in providing a comprehensive set of resources and services including implementation, performance monitoring, and ongoing learning. We are proud to utilize Sysmex's advanced clinical diagnostic tools to establish leading practices at our central laboratory to help us support the delivery of quality, timely, and cost-effective healthcare to Ontarians." "As a leading manufacturer of hematology analyzers, Sysmex is committed to advancing healthcare. We do this by taking a strong look at our customers' needs from a forward-looking perspective. "We trust our reliable automated hematology solutions will enable CML to achieve its goals while withstanding increasing workload demands and testing complexity of an aging population," said Rocha.

Sysmex offers reliable, scalable automation and IT solutions that provide opportunities for broad spectrum hematology laboratories to increase efficiency for laboratories of varying volumes. Sysmex's decision support software for clinical laboratory, Sysmex WAM(TM), complements this scale of testing by managing and standardizing clinical results across a single testing site, or as an enterprise-wide solution to connect multiple testing sites or sites with multiple systems.
