Sabre Accepting Entries for 2013 Red Appy Awards

SOUTHLAKE, Texas, Feb. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Sabre, a global travel technology company, is accepting entries from application developers for the 2013 Sabre Red Appy competition. Entry forms are due by March 15.

(Logo: The Sabre Red Appy awards recognize the best ideas for new Red Apps that will help travel professionals using the Sabre Red Workspace address challenges and opportunities in their businesses.

The winner of the 'Best Red App' category will receive the Sabre Red Appy award along with a $10,000 cash prize. Sabre will award a first runner-up prize of $2500 and will award an Environmental Impact prize which will include a $2500 donation made in the winner's name to the eco-charity of their choice.

Last year, won the top Red Appy award for its powerful search, compare and booking application for private car services.

Startup, emerging and established developers are invited to apply and submit their most creative and effective Red App concepts. From these initial applications, up to ten Red App developers and concepts will be selected as finalists to compete for the Sabre Red Appy.

During Sabre's Travel Technology Exchange (TTX), taking place in New Orleans April 29 - May 2, the finalists will demonstrate their applications and give their best pitch to a panel of judges and travel professionals. Winners will be announced on May 2 during the TTX general session.

Sabre Launches Travel Technology Exchange Building upon the success and popularity of its former Technology and Marketing University (TMU), TTX is a gathering of more than 800 travel professionals and technology providers to exchange ideas, best practices and business cards. TTX will offer specialized education tracks, networking sessions and compelling speaker presentations. Attendees will include representatives from travel agencies, cruise lines and tour operators, consolidators, Sabre Authorized Developers and other technology providers.

"TTX offers a unique opportunity for representatives from a broad cross-section of the travel industry to network with colleagues, hear from industry leaders and learn about best practices that can grow their businesses." TTX will offer in-depth product training across the Sabre Red portfolio, as well as a variety of workshops that show agents how and where they can apply their knowledge and skills.

In addition to product information, attendees will also hear from the following experts: -- John Stevenson, ClientKudos - using the power of stories to improve marketing campaigns -- Sarah Petty, The Joy of Marketing - how to use alternatives to paid advertising to bring customers through the door -- Cory Andrychuk of brandUcoaching - marketing, entrepreneurial thinking and branding, specifically targeted to those using ClientBase -- Dr. Robert Joselyn, CTC - financial management for agencies TTX will be held April 30 - May 2 in New Orleans.
