Pocket-size photo printer [New Straits Time (Malaysia)]
(New Straits Time (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) WHAT do people do with their collection of digital photos? More often than not, the more organised among us will archive the photographs according to date and the rest will let the pictures sit in a hard drive or a DVD somewhere. Only a select few will print the photos and organise them in a proper album.
Check out the LG Pocket Photo 2.0, which lets you print and share your images on the spot. Connect it to a compatible iOS or Android- powered device via NFC or Bluetooth and you will be able to print 2 inch x 3 inch photos. At 4mm thinner than its predecessor, it has been improved to print up to 30 photos per full charge at a crystal clear 313 dpi.
All you need to do is to download and install the free Pocket Photo editing app and you're good to go. You can also opt to embed QR codes in photos, making it an interesting way to link a physical photograph to an online community or other Internet-based content. The photos are also printed using proven Zink technology, doing away with the need for expensive ink cartridges, ribbons or toner. Zink printing technology relies on heat to activate the relevant colour- forming chemistry, which is imbedded in each sheet of paper, resulting in longer-lasting images and less smearing.
The LG Pocket Photo 2.0 comes in pink, jewel white and lime yellow shades. Pricing details not available.

No regular alarm clock
NOT all alarm clocks are created equal. Among the more popular alarm clocks are smartphones and cheap square timepiece. How about upping the ante with Soundfreaq's Sound Rise? It comes with smart features, all crammed in a design that will take up minimal space on your nightstand.
The Sound Rise is a Bluetooth 4.0-enabled bedroom speaker that comes with a dual alarm clock feature. It also sports a handy USB phone charger port to make sure your smartphone will be juiced up when you awake. THERE is nothing quite like the fusion of the old and the new, and the US$29.99 (RM99) Music Modem bridges both divides. This device harnesses sounds that used to be the domain of old modems and uses these to play music. How about that for creativity?
The Music Modem comes with eight buttons as well as a couple of switches in which one is the sound bank. You can pick from classic modem, newer modem or music sound banks where the first two provide eight notes each of zany modem sounds. The music sound bank activates the second switch, with five sets of tones set to a standard eight note scale. This means the first two are mostly made up of sounds, while the second lets you play the tunes you like. Powered by a trio of AA batteries, the Music Modem is the ideal tool to roll back the years in an endearing manner.
