Digital First Media Announces the Appointment of Steven B. Rossi as Chief Operating Officer

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 01/13/14 -- Digital First Media today announced the appointment of Steven B. Rossi as Chief Operating Officer. The appointment is effective immediately.

"Steve brings a deep knowledge of newspapers and the industry to this new position. He has been on the frontlines of the changes affecting our industry and has proven adept at finding solutions for success," said John Paton, Chief Executive Officer of Digital First Media.

Mr. Rossi, who has been an Executive Vice-President of Digital First Media for the last two years, has a long and distinguished career in newspapers. His previous positions include: Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of MediaNews Group; Chief Financial Officer of Knight Ridder; President of Knight Ridder Newspaper Divisions; Senior Vice-President of Knight Ridder Newspapers and Executive Vice-President and General Manager of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News.

In his role as Chief Operating Officer Mr. Rossi will be responsible for the Company's day-to-day operations including sales.

In other developments, Digital First Media Chief Financial Officer Barbara Bennett will take on the additional responsibilities of over-seeing DFM's Information Technology; Legal Services and Corporate Communications initiatives. Ms. Bennett will continue to report to Mr. Paton.
