(Canadian Press Broadcast Wire (Canada) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) (Canadians Killed Afghanistan) (Audio: 94) More has been learned about the two Canadians who are among the 21 people killed in Friday's terrorist attack in Kabul.

Peter McSheffrey of Ottawa and Martin Glazer of nearby Gatineau, Quebec were accountants auditing Canada's foreign aid work in Afghanistan.

They were having dinner in a restaurant when a suicide bomber and two gunmen struck.

Their employer, Pierre Samson, says he's shocked at the deaths, noting the terrorists struck in a highly secure area.

The families of the two men say both felt they were doing meaningful work and making a contribution to Afghanistan's future. (1) (Pakistan) Islamic militants are suspected in a bombing that killed at least 20 people this morning in northwestern Pakistan.

Since coming to power eight years ago, Harper has been a fervent supporter of Israel, and that nation's leaders have made it very clear they appreciate the support.

Tomorrow, he will speak to the Israeli parliament and receive an honorary doctorate from Tel Aviv University.

Harper's one-week tour of the Middle East also includes stops in the West Bank and Jordan. (1) (Listeria-Ham) A recall has been issued in Alberta and B-C for a ham product which might be contaminated with listeria, a potentially dangerous bacteria.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it has no reports of anyone becoming ill after eating the ham. (1) (California Wildfires) Firefighters in southern California are getting a handle on a raging wildfire in a hilly and bone-dry area 40-kilometres northeast of Los Angeles.
