SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

Ignyta, Inc. (OTCQB:RXDX), an oncology precision medicine biotechnology company, announced today that on February 11, 2014, the Securities and Exchange Commission declared effective the company's registration statement on Form S-1 relating to resale of up to 9,010,238 shares of Ignyta's common stock, par value $0.00001 per share, by certain selling stockholders. The company registered these shares to satisfy commitments it made in connection with the raising of approximately $54 million in equity financing to certain institutional investors and high net worth individuals.

"We are pleased that the SEC (News - Alert) has declared our Form S-1 effective," said Jonathan Lim, M.D., Chairman and CEO of Ignyta. The company will not receive any proceeds from any sales by selling stockholders, and the company is not aware of any plans by selling stockholders to effect such resales.

The offering of these securities may only be made by means of a prospectus. A registration statement relating to these securities has been declared effective by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The registration statement may be accessed through the SEC's website at A copy of the prospectus related to the offering may be obtained from Ignyta, Inc., 11095 Flintkote Ave., Suite D, San Diego, CA (News - Alert) 92121, or by calling (858) 255-5959.
