Corporate Messaging Software DeskAlerts Questions Validity of Email Communication

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) (PRWEB) February 15, 2014 In a study of email trends, DeskAlerts found that a staggering 89 billion business emails are sent every day. It cited the speed and low cost as possible reasons for this popularity, also noting that email technology is widespread meaning it can be used to reach a lot of people, set up meetings, share links and send attachments to recipients.

However, despite this proliferation of email culture throughout commercial organizations, the DeskAlerts team found a number of reasons for concern. In questioning whether email is the most appropriate and most valid form of communication given the sheer volume of people relying on the medium, it states that often, email senders can't expect a quick response from the recipient.

DeskAlerts also recognized that while emails are commonplace, they can also cause information overload with many suffering from overflowing inboxes. This can lead to less productivity and feelings of being overwhelmed by communication demands.

Finally, the DeskAlerts team hypothesizes that with such large volumes, email as a primary tool of communication could also pose a security risk thanks to the ease with which viruses can be attached to and embedded within messages. Clearly, the greater the volume of email sent and received, the higher the threat.

Anton Vdovin, Project Manager at DeskAlerts, said, "The numbers surrounding email use are quite simply immense and through our research into this topic we gained a real appreciation of just how entrenched the email culture is within offices and workplaces around the world. Mashable says that over 1 billion business email account registered all around the world. Clearly that's a huge number of contacts you cannot ignore. But if you are communicating daily with your employees, shareholders and customers, can you really rely on just one tool? "While it can be convenient and easy, email use can also pose its own problems not least of which is the recipient actually has to open their email program and then open the message to read the contents. We think that email can work best when coupled with a more secure message delivery system such as DeskAlerts, which delivers critical notices directly to the user's desktop." About DeskAlerts: DeskAlerts is the only alert solution that works in technologically and geographically diverse networks. It is a completely web-based solution that can be used to send desktop alerts and news updates to any employee within your organization, improving communications and productivity with a more efficient communication strategy than traditional email alone.
