PCTEL Launches In-Building 4G LTE and WiFi Antennas

BLOOMINGDALE, Ill. --(Business Wire)--

PCTEL (News - Alert), Inc. (NASDAQ:PCTI), a leader in simplifying wireless and site solutions for private and public networks, announced the release of its latest models of high performance in-building antennas for LTE (News - Alert) routers and WiFi access points. PCTEL's antennas are an essential element for delivering the performance that users expect from major OEM radio manufacturers to support and maximize coverage and data throughput rates.

PCTEL's portable LTE antenna (MPAMB700) is a direct mount router antenna for 4G LTE broadband wireless applications. Also available in models designed for WiFi (News - Alert) networks, PCTEL's MPAMB antennas do not require a ground plane. With a 0-90 degree articulating knuckle, they can be installed on vertically or horizontally mounted radios with equal ease. Both LTE and WiFi versions are available with two connector options for maximum installation flexibility.

PCTEL's low profile WiFi access point antenna (PCTMI2458-RPC) is optimized for operation with reverse polarity TNC compatible broadband wireless MIMO (802.11n, ac) access points operating at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. The rugged, UV resistant housing makes it suitable for use in a wide variety of indoor applications, including office LAN environments, factory floors, and retail establishments.

"Mobile device users consume over 90% of their data indoors and they increasingly expect wireless service levels that their data-hungry habits demand. As healthcare and other growing sectors more broadly adopt wireless solutions, this puts an increasing strain on in-building wireless networks," said Jeff Miller, President of PCTEL Connected Solutions. "PCTEL's rigorous design and testing process makes our antennas an excellent choice for healthcare and enterprise facilities looking to install, expand, or upgrade in-building wireless networks," added Miller.

PCTEL will be displaying its latest LTE and WiFi antennas along with its other antennas and site solutions for healthcare applications at the HIMSS14 Annual Conference and Exhibition, Booth #3441 in Orlando, Florida, February 24-26.
