CCC Announces MirrorLink™ Developer Fast Track

BARCELONA, Spain --(Business Wire)--

Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) - The Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), an organization driving global technologies for phone-centric car connectivity solutions, today announced the MirrorLink™ Developer Fast Track, a new program that makes it as easy as possible for developers to achieve MirrorLink-certification for their apps.

The CCC also announced that Glympse, Coyote and Parkopedia are the first developers to have been admitted to the program. Ultimately the MirrorLink Developer Fast Track will bring more MirrorLink-enabled apps to the world faster -and will enrich value for the MirrorLink-enabled cars and smartphones on the market today.

"The MirrorLink Developer Fast Track identifies and partners with developers who have compelling apps for the driving environment," said MirrorLink Evangelist Antti Aumo. "In order for the MirrorLink app ecosystem to reach its full potential, the CCC feels it essential to cultivate and promote organizations with the power to unleash truly disruptive content that will both redefine connected driving and exemplify MirrorLink's core attributes."

At a glance, the MirrorLink Developer Fast Track offers developer partners the following benefits:

  • Direct, enhanced access to technical support - to make adapting an app to MirrorLink as easy as possible.
  • Inclusion in CCC marketing and communications programs, including press, Web, social media and conferences
  • Promotion of the app among CCC members, including newsletters, member workshops, etc.
  • Potential reduction in test-lab costs

MirrorLink is the leading industry standard for car-smartphone connectivity and is designed for maximum interoperability between a wide range of smartphones and cars. It's also the only OS- and OEM-agnostic standard for car-smartphone connectivity. Ultimately MirrorLink gives consumers freedom of choice and peace of mind when it comes to using their favorite devices in their favorite cars.

In addition, today the CCC is hosting its second annual MirrorLink DevCon at the 2014 Mobile World Congress (MWC), taking place in Barcelona at Fira Gran Via, Theatre D, Hall 8.0. The CCC and its member companies are also conducting MirrorLink technology demonstrations from now through February 27 in the CCC booth, located at Congress Square CS160.
