SCRA'S Client - National Armaments Consortium - Signs $700M Rapid Ordnance Technology Prototyping Agreement

CHARLESTON, S.C. --(Business Wire)--

The National Armaments Consortium (NAC), a consortium of over 250 companies and academic institutions managed by SCRA, has been awarded a seven-year, multi-project, $700 million ordnance technology development and prototype Other Transaction Agreement (OTA). SCRA provides consortium management services and acts as single-point contracting activity for the NAC consortium. The Section 845 Other Transaction Agreement is executed by U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey on behalf of the Department of Defense Ordnance Technology Consortium (DOTC). This agreement renews and extends two previous agreements valued at $1.22 billion. NAC is the industrial and academic component of DOTC, both of which were established to facilitate collaborative ordnance technology development and prototyping.

To date, over $1 billion dollars have been awarded to our NAC member organizations to develop innovative armament and ordnance technology solutions that are crucial to helping support our American warfighters," said Gary Schneider, CEO of G. Every year, NAC hosts an Annual Membership Meeting that offers the government, industry and academia a unique opportunity to meet and exchange information relating to the research, development and deployment of critical armament and ordnance technology. This year, the annual forum was held March 5th and 6th in Whippany, N.J. Over 315 representatives and organizations participated in the event, making it the largest annual meeting ever held.

The NAC is one of numerous SCRA-managed consortia collaborations. In addition to the armament and ordnance program, which is designed to maintain our technological superiority on the battlefield, other consortia areas of expertise include: shipbuilding and maritime technologies, composites and advanced materials, manufacturing, software applications, agency interoperability, homeland security and vertical lift.
