DUBLIN --(Business Wire)--

Research and Markets ( has announced the addition of the "Global Medical Publishing Market 2014-2018" report to their offering.

China, Brazil, South Korea, and India have emerged as serious publishers of scientific content alongside the traditional scientific superpowers, the US, Western Europe, and Japan. The US remains on top, but its global share of published scientific papers reduced from 21 percent in 2012 to 19 percent in 2013. At the same time, China rose to second place, passing France, Germany, Japan, and the UK. China has a share of over 12 percent in 2013. The UK remained in third place and Japan fell from second to fourth, as countries in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North America and other countries emerged as contributors to the world scientific literature. Brazil, Russia, India China, and Turkey are the fastest growing national markets. The main reasons for this growth are the favorable government policies and the increase in income in these countries.

According to the report, one of the main drivers in the market is the changing global medical landscape. In addition to changing economic conditions globally, the growth of the market is shifting toward developing countries. This is mainly because the market in the developed countries has already reached maturity.

Further, the report states that one of the key challenges in this market is the uncertainty in the global macroeconomic conditions. This has had a great impact on the market.
