Capella University Dean Receives "Women Helping Women" Award from the Minnesota American Council on Education Network

MINNEAPOLIS --(Business Wire)--

In recognition of her many years of work to help women excel as leaders in business and higher education, the dean of business in Capella University's School of Business & Technology, Barbara Butts Williams, PhD, has received a "Women Helping Women" award from the Minnesota American Council on Education (ACE) Network. Capella University ( is a regionally accredited online university* that offers online degree programs designed to help working adults advance in their careers.

"Barbara's passion for education is evident in her work with staff and students as she inspires and challenges others to realize their potential. Barbara was nominated for the Women Helping Women award because of her work in helping others identify their pathways and reach their goals," said Becky Copper-Glenz, Ed.D, co-chair of the Minnesota ACE Women's Network. "Barbara exemplifies the values and mission of the Minnesota ACE Women's Network through her dedication to helping others and providing them with the skills they need to become future leaders."

Butts Williams received the award for providing "motivation, encouragement and support to other women in achieving their goals, both educationally and professionally."

"Having been recognized for helping other women achieve their professional and personal goals is so deeply meaningful for me," Butts Williams said. "There are so many amazing and talented women out there making incredible impacts on their professions each and every day. To have had a small part in helping them achieve their successes is hubling."

Butts Williams previously served as the dean of Capella's School of Education.
