Share Encouraged By First Quarter Performance, Market Share Grows

(Alliance News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LONDON (Alliance News) - Share PLC said Tuesday it has been encouraged by its performance in the first quarter, reporting growth in revenues, dealing commission and its market share of peer group revenues.

In a statement released ahead of Share's annual general meeting Tuesday, the company said that trading has had a good start to the year, with positive trends seen in the first quarter continuing into the second quarter, as it trades in line with management expectations.

Revenues in the first quarter of 2014 were 6.3% higher than in the same period in 2013, with dealing commission up by 19% year-on-year and fee income up by 2%, said the company. Share's performance in the first quarter against benchmarked peers has also been encouraging as previously reported with the group's market share of peer group revenues at 7.30%, compared to 7.19% last year.

Share operates The Share Centre Limited, an independent UK stockbroker, The group's first-half results to June 30, 2014 will be released on August 5, 2014.

Shares in the company were trading 0.70% higher at 43.3 pence per share Tuesday morning.
