Nexant Appoints Edwin Liu as SVP of Smart Grid and Grid Management [Professional Services Close - Up]

(Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nexant has appointed Dr. Edwin Liu as Senior VP of Smart Grid and Grid Management.

Reporting to Terry Fry, Nexant Senior VP of Utility Services, the Company noted, Liu will develop and direct grid management solution and strategy initiatives.

In its release, Nexant said that Liu joins Nexant after six years as VP of Strategy Initiatives and Smart Grid at Quanta Technology, the energy and utility consulting arm of Quanta Services.

"Edwin has extensive expertise in all aspects of smart grid technology and strategy," Fry said. "His experience in smart grid including advanced technology system integration; distributed energy resources management; micro-grids; and transmission and distribution systems optimization are very well-aligned with our service and software offerings." The Company noted that Liu is actively involved in Californian and Asian smart grid development projects as well as supporting smart grid educational initiatives with professional industry organizations. He is an IEEE Fellow and also serves as an advisor to the University of California (Los Angeles) Smart Grid Laboratory.
