(ClickPress (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) [ClickPress, Fri Jul 11 2014] Czech consumers continued to save on juice in 2013 under continuing unstable purchasing power and they continued to choose soft drinks cautiously. Customers bought less juice because of its increasing price and the drop in consumption was also simply caused by Czech consumers showing a slight away step away from preferring these drinks. Nevertheless, Czech consumers look for quality (higher fruit and vegetable content, absence of artificial preservatives and colourants) and they opt more for branded products though they continue to seek price-advantageous actions to get them. Most branded fruit/vegetable juice was purchased at discounted/promotional prices during 2013. Economy private label products continued losing ground to premium private label.

Consumption of fruit and vegetable juice was eroded by the unstable economic situation in the country under the global recession. It is probable that Czech consumers will remain careful about spending on soft drinks during the initial part of the forecast period but better performance is expected to develop during the final part in line with a more stabilised economic situation.
