Rwandan Marketers to Form Lobby Organisation

(AllAfrica Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) An association that will bring together local marketers and sales professionals is in the offing. Promoters of the initiative said the Association of Rwanda Marketers and Salespersons will promote professionalism among sales and marketing practitioners in Rwanda.

"It is important to have an association that will unite marketers and sales people in Rwanda. It can help marketers to collectively tackle challenges, open up career enhancing opportunities for members and share new ideas," William Kakaire, the head of trade at BAT Rwanda and one of the promoters of the association.

The association will be launched during the inaugural 'Marketers Night' planned for September.

Bob Reyman Kabango, a managing partner at Kingston Marketing Group, a regional marketing firm that is organising the event, said caretaker leaders of the association would be elected at the event.

"Given the relevance and importance of these professionals in the economy, it is important that they come together, share ideas and challenges and be empowered by sector experts," Kabango said while addressing reporters at the firm's Kigali City Towers offices on Wednesday.

He said the function will also serve as an opportunity to mentor upcoming sales and marketing professionals.
