Marketing Maven Receives Small Business Association's 8(a) Certification

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Los Angeles (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 Integrated marketing firm, Marketing Maven, announced that they became certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Business Development Program on July 16, 2014.

The 8(a) program is designed to assist socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs in gaining access to the massive federal government contracting market. The SBA also provides training and support as part of this nine-year business development program to help companies establish a solid foundation in government contracting.

Marketing Maven can now pursue federal government contracts leveraging opportunities set aside for 8(a) companies. Approval to enter the 8(a) Business Development Program is granted only after completing a rigorous review process to ensure applicants meet the standards for entering this coveted program. Paul Mazbanian, founder of Small Business Community Consultants, Inc. helped Marketing Maven prepare the SBA 8(a) certification, helping make Marketing Maven one of 785 companies in California as of July 21, 2014 to have this national minority status to compete for government contracts.

"Receiving our 8(a) certification is the product of a long process but one which we are sure will have a positive outcome for our company," said Lindsey Carnett, CEO and president of Marketing Maven. "We are excited to provide our services to federal government agencies and be a part of the change they wish to see on a national level." In addition to their 8(a) certification, Marketing Maven also maintains the following certifications: Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Women's Business Enterprise (WBE) certified by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council-West.
