Matrix maintains momentum through another exceptional offering [Bizcommunity (South Africa)]

(Bizcommunity (South Africa) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Everyday living and engagement is being transformed greatly by the use of Smartphone technology and as the presence of mobile technology continues to increase, so too does its impact...

South Africa's Smartphone usage was placed at 20 million users in 2013, showing growth of 32% from 2012. Predictions are that this acceleration will slow to 27% in the current year but time spent on devices continues to increase. Research shows that, on average, South African's spend 127 minutes on Smartphone devices per day, higher usage than television, tablets and laptops/PC's. The way organisations communicate with customers and the methodology behind product delivery and service maintenance, are impacted greatly by these behavioural insights.

Matrix understands these behavioural changes, as well as driver behaviours, which have both become increasing useful to clients. Newly released innovations from the brand are driver alerts, available to all MX2 and MX3 customers, notifying motorists and light fleet managers of events occurring along the journey. Incidents range from Harsh Braking to Harsh Acceleration and each event can be selected according to user preference; the incident report is then automatically generated. Notifications occur in real time and e-mail reports are produced and sent as cases arise, this notice also details a convenient link to a map showing the exact location of the event.

Some events are easier to avoid than others and while drivers are able to mitigate risk through suitable training and vehicle maintenance - high risk areas often cannot be avoided along the way. Offering solutions to the everyday problems is the Matrix Internet Tracking platform, which is about so much more that vehicle tracking.Personalised locations are now available on the site enabling users to create and name locations which have been Geofenced or selected as a predefined geographical area of interest. This is particularly helpful to managers of vehicles, in respect of time and delivery management, as well as parents of young drivers, offering peace of mind through a notification of safe arrival at a destination.

Geofenced locations can be created and named according to user preference; this ensures quick and easy differentiation between locations. When a vehicle stops, starts or even reports while inside the Geofence, the description on the Matrix Tax Logbook, reports and on screen will reflect the personalised name and not a generic location description.

Matrix has also redesigned its Smartphone App, not only in a fresh, clean look and feel but also in simple, user friendly functionality. Available to all IOS and Android users, the latest release includes unit functionality at a glance, with the status of your Matrix device displayed as red, amber or green. Customers can identify the status of their Matrix device as green - updated in the last two days, amber - updated three to four days ago and red - updated more than five days ago; convenience at its best.

Matrix, right by your side - whatever your communication preference.
